We were keen eat at the restaurant by the ancient tree - all the tables there were reserved but they offered a table in their secret garden. Best food so far in Kotor, great house wine, perfect cocktails, fantastic homemade ice cream and the waiter was great fun. No photos of the food (which was delicious) as we were too busy eating it! The secret garden is a lovely spot, Will definitely return.
We have been around multiple Balkan countries the past few weeks searching for the best meal. Well, we can confidently say that Ombra delivered on that wish. We started with the fried calamari and bread — no notes. Additionally, we ordered a variety of dishes — chicken in wine, beefsteak, and the octopus — and none of them disappointed. In fact, they exceeded expectations. Well done, Ombra! A must go!
We had a wonderful lunch here and shared the delicious seafood platter. For nonsmokers like us they have a very beautiful private outdoor courtyard that felt like a sanctuary from all the crowds in Kotor. It was perfect!
First visit - Nice light shared lunch. Calamari was delicious and loved the 2 dips. Prices ok (although 0.75cl water seems pricey everywhere!) Second visit - It was busy, we asked if they had a table available. There was a music concert going on in the square. We were put on a table in the street, and told we would be moved into the courtyard area soon when a table became available. We had to wait a long time for drinks and they took our drinks to other tables twice. It was quite disorganised. Other couples were seated on the street tables and told to wait for seats elsewhere, and then were moved before us. We gave up after it happened the 3rd time. Not good service. I had the calamari again which was nice. My partner ordered the carbonara which wasn't carbonara at all - penne and a white tasteless sauce. We were served by 4/5 different people, no one checked our food was OK, had to go up to get the bill. We appreciate they were busy, but if you can't give basic service to more customers maybe don't accept them
