Little Bird Hotel, Lesvos – A Hidden Gem If you're after a slice of Greek island charm with zero hassle and maximum relaxation, Little Bird Hotel delivers in spades. Delightfully clean with a pool so inviting you’ll consider moving in permanently, this place hits that sweet spot between laid-back and lovingly run. The staff and managers are genuinely friendly—not the fake smiley kind—and always on hand to help, whether you need a restaurant recommendation or just another round of poolside mythos. Parasol and sunbeds? Available every day. No early morning towel warfare required. Breakfast and lunch? A glorious spread that will tempt even the most jaded teenager out of bed—though we did request an extra key so our own could remain in a deep slumber without locking us out. Rooms are spotless with a bedding & towel change every 2–3 days—just enough to feel pampered without contributing to the collapse of civilisation. We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment—perfect for two adults and up to two teenagers, assuming you can prise them away from their devices and out into the Greek sunshine. There is a bit of a climb from the pool back to the room, but frankly, after all the delicious food, the uphill workout was probably a necessary evil. Feeling adventurous? There’s a coast path to Petra, which takes about 25–30 minutes. It’s a scenic wander along what we can only assume is a path constructed entirely from dry seaweed—unique, squishy, and surprisingly sturdy. Leave the stilettos at home. Local gems: Caravan by the Sea (2 mins walk): Great for a sunset dinner, toes practically in the water. Avalaki (5 mins walk): Taverna vibes with knockout food—don’t skip the grilled octopus. Woman’s Cooperative of Petra (30 mins walk): Local, lovely, and full of character—also the best baklava of your life. All need booking at least 2 days in advance, unless you enjoy disappointment and watching other people eat. Bonus Adventures: Take an evening cruise with Lesvos Boat Trips—they’ll scoop you up from Petra Harbour and whisk you away into a glorious sunset with just the right amount of sea breeze and smugness. And if you’ve hired a car (you should), don't miss the Roman viaduct (yes, actual Roman engineering) and the Olive Oil Museum, where you can pretend to be cultured while secretly just buying gifts for people you forgot to get souvenirs for. In short: Little Bird Hotel—stay here. Just don’t tell too many people!
Excellent choice for those wishing for the quiet life, with breathtaking view of the Petra bay and 'Rabbit Island' a 30 minute walk to the beach or town, or €8 taxi. Lovely way to spend the day or afternoon with beautiful pool area.
We’re just returning from our trip to Little Bird . It’s located above beautiful Birds Bay , between Petra and Molyvos. It’s so well organised, cared for and managed. The beautiful infinity pool , bar and Bird cafe along with the team steel the show … thanks Lisa , Πάνος , Αγάπη, χαρά, and Vicky…
Just returned from a 7 night stay at Little Bird and def won't be our last. We were dropped off by Jet 2 coach at the top of the lane and Panos came and picked us up. When we reached our villa , wow the scenery from the terrace was amazing, I just kept saying wow as we did a tour round the villa. We had 2 small balcony with table and chairs and a large terrace with table and chairs with interrupt view of the ocean. It was really home from home, dishwasher and tablets ,washing machine and powder, filtered water tap so no carrying heavy bottles of water, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, fridge freezer, plenty of wardrobe space and 2 sun loungers. We opted for room only but did eat in bistro and food and drink excellent.Poolside was always spotless with loungers regularly cleaned. Lisa,Panos, and Hara were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble they are an asset to Little Bird. We have booked to go again May 26. Susan and Robert
