Based on our experience, I can highly recommend this daytrip! We had such a pleasant day on the fishing boat. The boat departs from the harbor of Ormos on a daily basis during the season. Only with bad weather (e.g. rain) there is no departure. We booked our trip one day in advance and there was still place for us on the boat. After departure from the harbor (exactly on time) the boat travels along the coast to a location where they dropped a fishing net the day before. They show how traditional fishing with nets is performed. Unfortunately the catch of this day was not so good. Hereafter the ship continues to sail along the coast, showing Samos from a whole different side. The next activity is fishing with rods from the boat. The rods and bait are supplied by the team on the boat. In our case there was not a rod for all passengers on board so we had to share. We caught a few small fish, but none of them was really large enough for consumption. After the rod fishing we went to a private beach with umbrellas, sun beds and even a shower. Over there a lunch was prepared on the barbeque by the boat crew. You could choose between fish or steak. Besides this some bread, tzatziki, salad and drinks were presented. All in all a really decent lunch. The fish (sea bream) was very well prepared, but in my opinion the steak was a little bit less: quite tough and not that flavorful. Here is still some room for improvements! After lunch we had a couple of hours to relax, bath in the sun, swim and snorkel. Very relaxing! At the end of the day we returned back to the harbor. Quite often dolphins are spotted along the route, but unfortunately not during our trip. Payment is cash only so be sure to take enough money with you. The staff on the boat were very friendly during the entire day. So big compliments for that! Thank you for the nice day we had!
